Venom: The Last Dance‘s Final Trailer Prepares to Say Goodbye

The latest trailer for the final installment of the Venom trilogy promises to go out with a bang.

Sony has released a new, final trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, the third and final chapter in Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock/Venom series. Have a look:

As shown in the trailer, the film sees Eddie Brock on the run from the military while his alien symbiote, Venom, is pursued by native monsters from his own homeworld–seemingly on the order of Knull, the god of symbiotes, finally making his leap from the comics into superhero movies.

What do you do when its just you and your amorphous best friend against two worlds at once? Take a road trip to Las Vegas, naturally! Adapting a somber tone to suggest Brock and Venom’s time together is drawing to a close, the trailer plays “Wild World,”– a song Cat Stevens wrote expressing his despair and frustration over the end of his relationship with actress Patty D’Arbanville. Seems appropriate for the character’s complicated, and occasionally sexually-coded relationship. That said, Venom becoming a phlegmy parachute for Eddie is still pretty cute in an Inspector Gadget by way of David Cronenberg sort of way. Plus, more Venom horse!

Though Michelle Williams appears to be sitting this one out, Venom: The Last Dance stars Tom Hardy, Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Stephen Graham and is once again directed by returning director Kelly Marcel. It’s currently slated for an October 25, 2024 release.
